Missing the Olympics by .2 of a Second

The opening of the Olympics looks great, but it’s got to be tough for some. I just read a blog post by Brian who now runs Atrier Web Design Cork (and who used to be across the corridor from my office during my time at UCC) missing a chance to compete in the Olympics by 2/10s of a second after months of training. He was part of the Irish 4×100 relay team that put huge effort into training for & raising awareness of their goal of competing.

After the effort the team put in it must have been hard to take. Although, it wasn’t until I read the story in the Irish Independent that I got some idea how hard it must have been.  Finishing 15th in the World for the season is a huge achievement for the relay team, but I’m sure it’s little consolation for the team at the moment.
