Just came across the Bird’s Eye View in Microsoft’s Live Maps. They’ve got a very high resolution – I could pick my car out parked outside my house. The image below is of the Cathedral in Galway at 25 yards (I had to scale it down to include it in the post).
The images you get are much clearer than on the Google Maps close-ups of Galway. Although, they’re nothing compared to Google’s Streetview photography (for example, the Bay Bridge in San Francisco, below), but then that hasn’t made it to this side of the world yet.
